Abe Simon Memorial
This past fall we lost our friend and colleague, Abe Simon, Vice-Principal of Academic Affairs at Holy Redeemer High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Abe was a loving father, son and brother, a dedicated coach and educator and a proud veteran of the Army Reserves.
As a means of honoring Abe’s memory, we at Holy Redeemer have taken on a multi- phased project. The initial phase will include replacing all the American flags in our classrooms, offices and hallways. A plaque paying tribute to Abe will be placed underneath each flag. It is our hope that this project will result in a very visual presence of the admirable character of Abe Simon.
The next phase will include new flags and a larger plaque for the flag pole in front of Holy Redeemer High School. The installation of a lighting system that would provide nightly illumination will also be included.
As the project progresses, it is our hope to be able to honor one of Abe’s keen educational interests, upgrading technology within the classroom. Most of all, Abe cared for and respected our students. We would also like to honor Abe’s memory by offering scholarships and tuition assistance in his name.
At this time we are inviting you to consider making a donation in Abe’s memory to help with the success of these endeavors. Please use the enclosed card. Thank you for your support and generosity.
